Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions below.

  • Users who create or edit large diagrams (i.e. diagrams with more than 20 elements) need a license. Significant volume discounts are granted when multiple user licenses are purchased in a bundle. A licensed user can create / edit an unlimited number of diagrams across teams and channels (not just one!). Unlicensed / free users can always view the diagrams in read-only mode, but cannot create or edit any diagram if it exceeds the 20 elements in total.

After purchasing one or more user licenses, you will receive one license key which can be activated by the number of users you purchased. Please pass the license key on to those users who should receive a license. The person who buys the license does not have to use the license personally, but can also pass the license key on to another person.

  • The free tier allows you to test the Diagram App and the integration with Microsoft Teams as long as you need. The only limitations are that you cannot edit diagrams that exceed 20 elements and there is no write-protection in the free tier. To manage larger diagrams, we ask you to purchase a license.

  • No! All licensed users can create as many diagrams as needed across different teams and channels in Microsoft Teams. The number of diagrams is not limited.

  • A license is required for each user who creates or edits larger diagrams. Example: If you have 3 users that create diagrams and a team of 10 users who view diagrams in read-only mode, we ask you to purchase 3 licenses. Note: You will get significant volume discount, if you purchase multiple licenses at once.

  • Yes, of course. Even free and paid users can collaborate. If the diagram size exceeds 20 elements, the free users can still view the same diagram in read-only mode.

  • No, if you add Diagrams to a channel in Microsoft Teams, every member of the team will have access to the diagram automatically.

  • Please find instructions here about the different alternatives to terminate your subcription easily.

  • Yes, each user license can be transferred to another person, max. two times per year. Please open the Diagrams app in Microsoft Teams, go to the top right corner menu and press 'License Manager' (your license key has to be activated to see this option).

If you have purchased multiple user licenses: The user account who purchased the license ('License Manager') and the the user account who activated the license first ('Secondary License Manager') can assign and revoke user licenses centrally from within Microsoft Teams. These two user accounts see an additional button 'Assign licenses...' which allows them to assign and revoke user licenses. In some environment where the Microsoft single-sign-on requires admin approval, you can alternatively forward your license key to the new user for manual activation.

If you have a single user license: Please press the 'Remove License' button on the top right corner in the license manager to free your user license. Afterwards, the new user can activate the same license key again.

  • The Diagram app is currently available in English only.

  • Sales tax is applied to orders according to the buyer's country and state, using the constantly updated tax logic of our reseller Paddle. If you have a valid sales tax ID, this can be entered by you when using the online checkout. The amount of tax is then revised accordingly.

If you have a US sales tax exemption certificate, there are two options:
    1) Prior to purchase: Send the tax exemption notice to assist@paddle.com, they can mark your e-mail as tax exempt. This process might take a few business days. Afterwards, you can use the online checkout with revised tax.

    2) After purchase: If you need the license immediately, you can just check out, send the tax exemption certificate afterwards and our reseller Paddle will refund the tax within 1 week and issue an updated invoice receipt.

Your US tax exemption documentation should be dated within one year prior to purchase and include the tax identification number. Please add Paddle's information in the area designated for seller/vendor:
    Paddle.com Inc.; 3811 Ditmars Blvd., #1071; Astoria, NY 11105.

  • The receipt is sent automatically through our reseller paddle.net immediately after your purchase. It is sent from the e-mail address help@paddle.com to your stated address, where you received the license key. Please also check your private and business e-mail accounts. A PDF receipt is attached to the e-mail. If you cannot find the e-mail anymore, you can also download your invoice in the Paddle customer portal. For invoice-related topics, please contact help@paddle.com directly.

If you purchased through Microsoft, your invoice is provided 3 days after purchase in the Microsoft admin center.
